Automobile air conditioner systems may seem like a mystery to those unfamiliar with how they work. In actuality, while the auto cooling system may be complex, it's not difficult to understand. Even the novice can get a solid idea of how it works, and how problems with it can be fixed.
Basically, an automobile air conditioner uses a refrigerant to cool down air. In order to do this, the refrigerant has to go through many steps and many systems. It moves from the evaporator, to the compressor, through the condenser, to an expansion device.
Of course, all these steps means there are many places for auto cooling problems to occur. When you incur such a problem, you need to figure out exactly where in the A/C process the dilemma is. Once you know where the problem lies and what it is specifically, you can start to fix it.
One common problem in A/C systems has to do with the drier, or accumulator. Since debris ends up in this area, it can get filthy over time, and work less efficiently. When that happens, it may behoove you to switch out your drier, and replace it with a brand new part.
